KASARGOD: When Revenue Minister E Chandrasekharan visited the houses of murdered Youth Congress workers Kripesh and Sharatlal at Periya on Thursday he had to face the emotional outbursts of their parents.

Sharatlal’s father Sathya Narayan virtually exploded, whining, “What wrong did out children do? He is not a criminal. Attempts are going on to put the blame on Peethambaran. Will this government stay if the CBI comes?” he asked.

Sathya Narayanan alleged that the government, which should have protected lives, had taken lives. “Some party men had conspired to kill... For our peace of mind, the culprits should be punished. It was not a conspiracy that was hatched today or yesterday.”

The minister was on a visit to Sharatlal’s house Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, he responded that all should spurn political murders. Party leaders should have resolved political arguments that existed between party workers.

“No party or Front or government will accept killings. Killings may be part of the clashes between individuals. But even that didn’t happen here. If the killed and the killer are in two different organisations, the rest will be interpreted,” he explained.
