THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala assembly speaker P Sreeramakrishnan said that the people are witnessing a dominant moderation in channel debates just like Arnab Goswami, instead of a healthy debate. He termed it as arnabification. He also said that media should not follow such a method. He was inauguration the ‘Madhyama Charithra Yatra’ conducted by Kerala Media Academy at Lerala Kaumudi office compound.

“At present, journalists are instant intellectuals. Society blindly believes them. Therefore, media has a certain responsibility, journalists forget this. I am not saying that this is intentional. Since technology has developed a lot, there is an access to a large amount of news. Media choose a ‘masala’ news each day as their breaking news, as part of a race for survival. However, they even gulp their own news. I don’t want any news from assembly to create a division in the society. It is part of my responsibility to presence democracy. Such news affect the trustworthiness of a media”, said Sreeramakrishnan.
