KOTTAYAM: The crisis created by the firm stand of P.J. Joseph for a Lok Sabha seat ensures in Kerala Congress (M). Joseph group stand is to come up with a final decision after the discussion with UDF leaders on 26th of this month.
IUML leader P.K. Kunjalikutty’s and KPCC President Mullappally Ramachandran’s efforts to break the ice between Joseph and Mani was not effective.
Joseph group believes that they are eligible for Kottayam seat if it’s the only seat granted by UDF for Kerala Congress (M). However, Mani is not ready to give up.
When Joseph group joined Mani, there was a condition that positions should be shared in a 3:1 ratio. As Jose K. Mani got Rajya Sabha seat, Joseph demanded the Lok Sabha seat. However, Jose K. Mani denies the existence of any such condition.
Meanwhile, the competition within Mani group for the seat is high as well with former MLA Stephen George Thomas Chazhikadan, Prince Lukose and Saji Manjakadambil going for it.
