PATHANANTHITTA: Devaswom Board president A Padmakumar may be removed as CPM district secretariat member and district committee member for taking a stand in Sabarimala issue that had put the State government in dilemma.

State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan informed the district unit that a decision in this regard will be taken after discussion by State secretariat following the Parliamentary election.

The district secretariat also had demanded action against Padmakumar. Currently Padmakumar is being kept aloof from party activities. He has not been given any responsibility related to the election in the state.

After the controversy, he never took part in Secretariat yogam. In Secretariat meeting, he was even called a traitor.

In the meeting attended by the chief minister in Pathanamthitta to explain the achievements of the government, which completed its 1000 days in office, Padmakumar was conspicuous by his absence.

Meanwhile, the Kerala Samrakshana yatra led by Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was accorded warm reception in Pathanamthitta district on January 20 and 21 and none of these programmes was attended by Padmakumar.

Padmakumar was also not invited for district secretariat meeting in Adoor after reception.

When Sabarimala Karma Samithy and BJP blocked the Aranmula house of Padma Kumar, the BJP didn’t issue any statement to protect him.
