What happened in US and Paris the other day is a great diplomatic victory for India in its fight against terrorism perpetrated from Pak soil covertly and overtly.

The UN Security Council the other day had condemned in harsh terms the Pulwama suicide attack that heinously took the life of 40 CRPF jawans.

Notably, the resolution of the council even named the terror outfit called Jaish e Mohammed in which the Pulwama suicide attacker was a member.

What is significant is, the resolution against Pulwama attack was passed by the support of 15 permanent members including China.

Though China, an all-time Pak supporter tried, to oppose the resolution, it had to raise its hand in its favour, though with double mind, after other world powers supported the resolution.

The members of the Security Council underlined the need to hold perpetrators, organisers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice, and urged all States, in accordance with their obligations under international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, to cooperate actively with the Government of India and all other relevant authorities in this regard,

In a major boost to India's efforts to get Azhar on the list of global terrorists, France is expected to soon move a proposal at the UN to ban the head of the UN-proscribed group.

Pakistan might have come to understand the strong stand of world countries. This could be presumed since the Pakistan had started taking some action against terror groups even before French resolution reached Security Council.

The Pak government took over the Punjab headquarters of Jaish e Mohammed as part of this. The decision of the group of 38 countries that was formed to prevent financial aid to terror organisations to put Pakistan on Terrorism-financing watch list is also a big win for India in its fight against terrorism.

Pakistan have been warned of dire consequences if it doesn’t take strong take action against terror groups and people supporting them.

Pakistan will have to obey conditions put forth by the collective of world countries in order to avoid getting blacklisted. If Pakistan is not ready to obey the conditions, more stringent economic sanctions will be initiated against it.

Pakistan will change its attitude only after feeling the pressure from world countries. It is a country that is struggling financially and hence it needs the financial help of other countries. The Pak rulers may be well aware of the blunder of fostering terrorists, only to strain its relationship with world countries. But in a country virtually ruled by military, the army has a big role in fostering terrorists. It is an open secret that terror camps are functioning under the army.

Pakistan banned Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed's terror organisation Jama'at-ud-Da'wah (JuD) only two days before the group of 37 countries met in Paris. This shows Pakistan acted, fearing deterring action from this countries’ collective.
The action taken by India against Pakistan post-Pulwama attack also has been suffocating that country.

In between, International Olympic Committee and India had crossed sword over denying Indian visa to two Pak shooting stars and an official.

The Committee’s threat is that India would not be allowed to contest international games in future. India’s decision is also not to play cricket with Pakistan. The estrangement caused by this is not bigger than the Pulwama wound inflicted on India by Pak-based terrorists. Anyone having love for India will agree to this.
