THIRUVANNATHAPURAM: After KSRTC, the SuppluCo is also going to face severe financial crisis, thanks to the move by the government to get bank loan for it.

The Food department is planning to take Rs 500 cr loan from the bank for the temporary relief of the Corporation without clearing the dues to the tune of Rs 1982 cr. This will break the backbone of SupplyCo which is already under financial crisis.

The government has yet to pay last year's outstanding amount of Rs 419 cr to the SupplyCo. The payment towards Free food kit bought during flood is yet to be made.

Though the SupplyCo wrote to the Food Safety department for clearing its pending bills, the finance department took the stand that it won’t be able to pay the bill under the current financial condition. Instead of that, it said it was ready to give sanction for getting the bank loan.
