KASARGOD: CPM leaders who came to visit houses vandalized by the Congress as an aftermath of the Kallyot double murder, faced strong protest.
A group of CPM leaders led by P. Karunakaran MP faced protest from Congress activists, including women and children at Kallyot Junction. They came rushing towards the left leaders. Some started verbal abuse against the leaders.
Ignoring these protests, the CPM leaders visited the vandalized houses and party officer before leaving.
“Why are you here…we won’t get our children back…you took two lives, have you arrived to claim more…,” the protesting women clamored.
One activist even tried to jump onto the CPM leaders by shouting “K.V Kunjiraman killed our children, he shouldn't go there”. He was stopped by a group of policemen.
A team of 200 policemen was deployed in the area considering the visit of the CPM leaders. P. Karunakaran MP, K. Kunjiraman MLA, M. Rajagopalan MLA, CPM District Secretary MV Balakrishnan, State Committee members KP Satish Chandran, CH Kunjambu, Pulloor Periya Panchayat President Sarada S. Nair, CPM District Secretariat member K.V. Kunjiraman and Kanhangad Area Secretary Rajmohan were in the group.
