THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A detailed investigation is needed in the fire that broke out continuously in the state, said Fire and Rescue Department head DGP A Hemachandran. The possibilities of sabotage in the fire that broke out should be examined and a detailed probe should be conducted to find the reason for the fire, he said.
Many buildings work without fire safety systems, such buildings should be found and steps should be taken, he said. The fire department of the state should be revised and even after the state has made so much progress, the facilities in the department are not adequate, he said.
He pointed the major fire that broke out at the Brahmapuram waste management plant in Kochi and Edavanna in Malappuram in recent days. The fire that broke out at a godown storing paint and thinner in Edavanna was doused only after hours. In addition to all these, fire broke out at Mangalavanam in Kochi and wildlife sanctuary in Wayanad.
