THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Shang Jiansin, Chinese Consular in India said that China is ready for an education exchange programme with Kerala. He was speaking to Kerala Kaumudi during the Indo-China friendly committee’s seminar in Thiruvananthapuram. He had informed this in a discussion with Kerala University vice chancellor Dr. V P Mahadevan Pillai.
Chinese students are interested in studying in Kerala. However, the rules and regulations here are very strict. There are about 20 thousand Indian students studying in China, however, there are only 1800 Chinese students in India. There are many visa regulations so that many Chinese students can not join professional courses in India. Initially, visa is being granted only for three months. Chinese students are apprehended by this.
There are no Chinese teachers in India. Indians who are proficient in Chinese are teaching in the educational institutions here. Meanwhile, Chinese government is bringing Indians with the help of ICCR to teach Hindi. Chinese students are keen to study Hindi. Hindi is being taught in 24 universities including Beijing University in China. China is ready to sign a contract with India in connection with every subjects except medicine since in the field of medicine, there are many agents who commit scam.
