THODUPUZHA: P J Joseph has stuck to his demand for two Lok Sabha seats for the Kerala Congress in the Lok Sabha polls. Apart from Kottayam, has demanded an additional seat, either Idukki or Chalakudy and have presented this before Rahul Gandhi, he told reporters here.
Earlier, the Kerala Congress had two seats. When the Kerala Congress got three seats in 1984 the Muslim League got only two seats. So, it should not be compared with the number of seats of the League, he said. Joseph who said the party will decide on the candidature revealed his desire to contest the polls. He expressed his interest in going to the Lok Sabha and also said that he is ready to contest the polls.
Meantime, he said the candidature of Nisha Jose K Mani in Kottayam is all speculation. Talks in connection with the polls will start from Tuesday onwards. We expect the party to get two seats and the UDF will win in all twenty constituencies, he said.
