There is no point in giving sermons to attackers. The language easily understood by any rowdy is the muscle power. The never-to-be-forgotten curt reply India gave today early morning to Pakistan terrorists, who had slayed 40 CRPF jawans in a suicide bomb attack at Pulwama recently, was the one that terrorists would easily understand.
On Tuesday morning, at around 3.30 am, a group of Mirage 2000 fighter jets carried out airstrikes on terrorist camps located across the LoC and that around 1,000 kgs of bombs had been dropped. Reports ports had stated that the targets were Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist camps in Balakot, Chakothi and Muzaffarabad. While Balakot is located in Pakistan’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, Chakothi and Muzaffarabad are located in Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir.
Pakistani F16s were scrambled to retaliate against IAF Mirage 2000s but turned back due to the size of Indian formation. The Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force coordinated the operation.
The air strikes come 12 days after 49 CRPF personnel were killed in a suicide terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. The attack, which triggered global outrage and condemnation, was claimed by the Pakistan-based militant group JeM and prompted a spike in tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
The attack was 100 pc success. Neither the Pakistan nor terror groups would have ever imagined that Indian retaliation would happen so soon.
After Pulwama attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that the sacrifice made by soldiers will not go in vain. Those who have self-respect are sure to be thrilled by the fact that he kept his words to a great extent.
Indian fighter jets crossed Line Of Control and returned safe after dropping 1000kg bombs in pockets of terror on Pak soil.
Despite Pak terror groups unleashin terror in different parts of Kashmir and took the life of many people, our Armed forces had not made any attempt to cross the border and attack.
India’s declared policy is peaceful and friendly co-existence with its neighbour countries but terror attacks now and then show Pakistan is not convinced about this.
The recent exploits of terror group from Pak side showed how lightly that country took the peace initiatives of India.
Even when Pulwama attack happened, Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan tried to play it down saying that his country had no role in the attack.
But the suicide attack carried out by Jaish e Mohammed, fostered by Pak Army, had isolated Pakistan from world countries.
Even China had to spurn Pakistan in the UN Security Council. India air strike happened within hours of Imran Khan seeking one more chance for peace in Pakistan.
But like his predecessors, the former cricketer, who harbour grudge against India, also started asking for proof of Pak role in the Pulwama attack.
The meaninglessness of Pak asking for evidence becomes very clear when we recall the callousness of that country in taking action against terror despite India giving evidence since the time of Mumbai attack.
World countries were also in favour of Inndia general sentiment of giving a strong reply for Pulwama terror attack. Last week, India had received ample support in UN Security Council and European Union for acting against terror groups.
Following the Pulwama attack the whole nation, irrespective of their political differences, had stood united. This had given strength to the Centre to take strong action.
Even long before, India understood that amiability or politeness would not work with terrorist group. Still, India exercises maximum tolerance. Pakistan’s policy has been to keep Kashmir volatile and constantly provoke India.
As, tit for tat action may be needed in some cases, the army may have to take to unconventional means to confront terrorists.
It was essential for India’s integrity and freedom to wipe out terror groups in Pak-occupied Kashmir from where they made frequent guerrilla attacks on India.
India is well aware of repercussions of its February 26 action. Its armed forces are well-equipped to handle any eventuality.
As for Pakistan, it would be ideal for the country to take an apt decision, considering the attack as a warning.
But, if Pakistan has no plans to change its erroneous villainous path, there is no doubt that it will have to face more retaliatory strikes from India.
