KASARAGOD: In order to overcome the bad name and allegations following the double murder at Periya Kallyot, CPM has started explanation meetings on an area basis. These meetings are on the direction from the state leadership. The first meeting was held at Neeleswaram Aradhana Auditorium with the participation of area and local committee secretaries. On March 1, a meeting with the participation of all members will take place.

In the meeting at Neeleswaram, CPM district secretary M.V. Balakrishnan clarified that the party is not involved in the murder and Peethambran never informed about the same. “This was a murder Peethambaran did on his own. No one inside the party was aware of this. This murder was out of a local vendetta. Now the party’s rivals want to make use of this situation. CPM has expelled him for this cruel act”, Balakrishnan said.
