high-court

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court Thursday ordered to re-examine the self-financing medical fees of 2017-2018. The high court order came after canceling Justice Rajendrababu commission’s order of 4.5 lakh to 5.5 lakh. Over 4000 students will be affected by this. 21 managements approached the court seeking consent to charge more as the fees fixed for the MBBS seats of self-financing colleges is not enough.

The management moved the court as the fees of 4.50 lakh to 5.50 lakh fixed by the commission is not enough and demanded 11 lakh to 15 lakh. KMCT, a self-financing medical college in Mukkam, first moved the court demanding an increase in fees. The panel fixed 4.85 lakh for this college. Later 19 more colleges too filed a case.
