KOCHI: A raid was conducted by the crime branch at Kollam and Kasargod in connection with the beauty parlour firing case. A raid was conducted at the houses of the doctor couple suspected to have helped the accused.

Police suspect that the doctor couple gave details of actress Leena Maria Paul and also arranged accommodation for the accused in Kochi.

Shots were fired at the beauty parlour in Kochi on December 15. However information was obtained that the actor was threatened with a ransom call of Rs 25 lakh from Mangaluru-based gangster Ravi Pujari. This was revealed by the doctors and they later reacted differently. Following that, a detailed probe was done. A crime branch raid was conducted at a time when a charge sheet is to be filed the next day.
