KOCHI: There is a turning point in the probe in connection with the firing at actress Leena Maria Paul’s beauty parlour in Kochi. It has been hinted that police officers in Kochi have a role in it. Leena told police that a sub inspector had prior informed her about the firing. The inspector was questioned on the basis of the statement.
Meantime, the first charge sheet in the case arraigning underworld gangster Ravi Pujari will be submitted today. The final report of crime branch DySP Josy Cherian will be produced in the court. Pujari was charged with sections 387 (extortion), 506 (intimidation) and 120 B (conspiracy) of the IPC.
The crime branch had the other day raided the houses of a doctor couple at Kollam and Kasargod on the suspicion that they had helped the miscreants who opened fire at the 'Nail Artistry' salon owned by the actress at Panampilly Nagar on December 15. They had arranged accommodation to the assailants and provided details about the actress.
