THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Resentment is brewing within Janata Dal after the LDF grabbed Kottayam Lok Sabha seat from them. The Janata Dal may pull out its minister from the Pinarayi government in protest against the alleged misdemeanour of the party with which they had associated for 42 years.
The meeting of State leaders of Janata Dal to be held on Friday will take a final decision on this.
A section of the leaders feel that it happened due to the inefficiency of the present leadership and they suggest resignation of the current Janata Dal minister from the cabinet and protest against the CPM action. They are getting ready to raise the issue strongly in the leaders’ meeting, reminding the former history of the party.
In 2009, the Left front had taken the Kozhikode seat from the Janata Dal in return for the newly formed the Wayanad seat. At that time, a section in Janata Dal left and formed Socialist Janata Dal and others continued in the Left Front. The then Janata Dal Minister also had resigned.
