THRISSUR: A church with a surface area of 3,100 square feet is moving seven meters back, thanks to the engineering marvel of TDBC Engineering Works. This work is being done at Nedupuzha St. Johns Baptist Church.
The building will be raised with mechanical jack and moved back. Technical works began two months back by a team of experts. The three-storeyed church has a hall of 100 feet length and 50 feet breadth. The lower floor contains the Altar. The top two floors are for religious classes. The church was raised with the help of 150 mechanical jacks. A small distance will be moved each day. Almost 10 feet has been already moved. The church building will reach its preferred spot within one week.
The whole process will cost Rs 68 lakhs.
