THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It was almost sure that only CPM and CPI would be able to contest in the Lok Sabha election. Despite some protests in the LDF meeting, all parties unanimously agreed to this.

The CPM will contest from 16 seats while the CPI will be seeking votes from four constituencies. Convenor A. Vijayaraghavan said that the decision was unanimously agreed taken accordingly with the political scenario.

Neelalohitadas of Janatha Dal-S and T.P. Peethambaran of NCP had visible discontent with seat sharing. Not hiding his protest, Neelalohitadas said that the LDF is only a Communist Front and not the Left Democratic Front. NCP leader T.P. Peethambaran also said that the LDF lost its relevance after seat sharing.

Owing to the discontent of the allied parties, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that parties should be willing to compromise this time due to the special political situation.

The CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran said that all allied parties should respect the emotion in the CM’s words.
