KAYAMKULAM: Minister G Sudhakaran was irked at the construction activities after demolishing a part of a government guest house. The new construction was not informed to me and who gave permission to demolish and construct it, asked the minister. The minister saw a part of the building demolished when he came to attend a programme of Kayamkulam municipality.
The government had not released an order for the construction activities. The guest house was renovated with an expense of Rs 2 crore a year back. This was demolished now and it happened without my consent or permission and the government had not even issued an order, he said. An emergency meet of high officials will be convened soon.
The work is being done with the construction operational fund of 2014. Neither the officials nor employees were at the guest house when the minister came last evening at 6 pm. The construction activities will be stopped and action will be taken against the officials, he said.
