KANNUR: M V Jayarajan has been selected as CPM Kannur district secretary. The decision was taken as present secretary P Jayarajan is contesting Lok Sabha polls in Vadakara.

M V Jayarajan is private secretary of the chief minister and CPM state committee member. Jayarajan took charge as district secretary in the district committee convened here Monday.

CPM Kannur former district secretary P Shashi, who returned to the party after facing disciplinary action will reach the leadership again. It is heard that he will be included in the district committee also.
