THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Several BJP members have raised the allegations that the party leadership is opposing K Surendran’s candidacy. Several members have come forward against party president P S Sreedharan Pillai. BJP hopes to win Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta and Thrissur constituencies. They hope to win in Pathanamthitta following Sabarimala protests. Kummanam Rajasekharan will contest in Thiruvananthapuram and BDJS leader Thushar Vellappally will contest in Thrissur. However, P S Sreedharan Pillai wants to contest in Pathanamthitta, while many members believe that K Surendran is the suitable candidate for Pathanamthitta.
Kummanam was brought back by RSS leadership. Many leaders came to know of this from media. When RSS leadership informed Amit Shah to bring back Kummanam, Shah had said that BJP state leadership did not demand this. A decision will be taken in the core committee meeting in Kottayam. RSS may also involve in the discussions.
