THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Even as arguments over not allotting seat to Kerala Congress M Working Committee chairman P J Joseph hotted up, he visited senior Congress leader Oommen Chandy’s house on Wednesday morning.

Emerging from Chandy’s Thiruvananthapuram Jagathy house, along with Mons Joseph, Joseph told media persons that Chandy said he would inform him about the UDF’s joint decision after they held a discussion on the matter.

Since yesterday moves have been going on within the Congress to retain Joseph in the UDF. While the Congress prefers Joseph to Mani, if the former tries to split Kerala Congress M, he may lose his MLA post under anti-defection offence. Or else, he should get expelled from the party.

Though Joseph wishes to contest from Idukki, the Congress may not spare that seat. The chance for winning is also scarce if he contests the poll as an independent candidate.

However, Joseph is not willing to continue in the party, bearing the humiliation he faced over Thomas Chanzhikadan’s candidature. Under these circumstances all eyes are on Joseph’s next move.
