Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought help from Malayalam actor Mohanlal. The Prime Minister tweeted, “Lal's performances have entertained millions of fans over the years. You have won many awards. I request you to create greater voter awareness and urge people to vote in large numbers.”

Mohanlal has given a reply to the message. He tweeted, “Certainly sir, It will be my privilege to request all the fellow citizens to exercise their right for a vibrant democracy.”

Mohanlal was conferred the Padma Bhushan Award this year at a function held at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan. Modi sent a message congratulating him for the award.
