THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It has been hinted that BJP president P S Sreedharan Pillai is not likely to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. He said that he had earlier clarified his stand about his candidacy. He also added that the party will take the final decision.
Meantime, Pillai added that Tom Vadakkan's name was not included in the list submitted by Kerala faction. Central leadership will take the decision regarding Vadakkan's candidacy. Suresh Gopi also said that he will contest if central leaders ask him to do so.
PS Sreedharan Pillai, K Surendran and M T Ramesh are being considered for Pathanamthitta constituency. However, M T Ramesh withdrew himself during the second stage of discussions. K Surendran had earlier clarified that he is not ready to contest in any other constituencies except Pathanamthitta. Rumours state that Pillai withdrew himself following Surendran's remarks.
Thushar Vellappally will contest in Thrissur. Tom Vadakkan is likely to be the candidate in Chalakkudi. Sobha Surendran may contest from Attingal and C Krishnakumar is likely to be the candidate in Palakkad.
