MANJERI: A shocking allegation is made that the body of a 45-year-old Karnataka woman, who died of cancer in Manjeri Medical College, was taken back by their relatives after it was folded and pushed inside the dickey of their car.
The body was taken to her relatives’ house in Maharashtra. Though private ambulance drivers in the locality opposed this way of shifting the body, the relatives were not ready to relent.
The relatives argued with the drivers by showing them the documents including the NOC from the Manjeri police that allowed the transportation of the body. The ambulance driver’s offer to transport the body in their vehicle only at the cost of fuel expense was also turned down by the relatives.
It is also alleged that the hospital authorities didn’t interfere in the matter.
