NEW DELHI: The Congress leader and Member of Parliament, K.V. Thomas has come out in public brushing the rumours that he will join the BJP following the omission from candidacy at Ernakulam seat. “I will not do anything that harms the party. Ernakulam is the sitting seat of Congress. Hibi Eeden will definitely win there. I will campaign for the party at Ernakulam”, Thomas said.
Thomas had publicly expressed his discontent over omission from Ernakulam seat. However, he later lightened his stance after senior Congress leaders interfered.
“I have already expressed my opinion inside the party. Party’s approach hurt me. Ernakulam is a Congress forte. Any candidate will win from there. I will welcome any role the party gives me. Basically, I am a Congressman. The BJP hasn’t given me any promises”, Thomas added.
K.V. Thomas’ new stand is sure to give the Congress some relief as they gear up with all they have to bring down the Narendra Modi government.
