THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress MLA K Muraleedhan has said that he was not scared of contesting the Lok Sabha election from Vadakara, where the LDF has an edge, and he will be having the blessings of devastated mothers hailing from Vadakara, where blood has been shed by party workers several times.

He was speaking at a farewell meeting organised by Vattiyoorkavu Assembly constituency.

He had not turned up for discussions over candidature despite the invitation from the high command.

It was Oommen Chandy who asked Muraledharan during the election convention of Thiruvananthapuram candidate Shashi Tharoor whether he was willing to contest the election.

“I said I was ready to take up any challenge for the party. Soon after this, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala also asked whether I was ready to contest the election. The announcement came after that. e I’m not worried about my opponent, whoever it may be…I strongly believe that I shall win,” Mutraleedharan explained.

Meanwhile, Dr Shashi Tharoor said that Muraleedharan is a candidate who stands the chance of winning from any of the 20 seats in Kerala.
