OACHIRA: Unconfirmed reports say the abduction of a minor from Kollam was aimed at sexual trafficking. An investigation has been intensified jointly by the Kerala Police camping in Bengaluru and Karnataka police. The railway police is also conducting a probe. Police has confirmed that the main accused is Muhammed Roshan, son of a CPI local leader and a native of Valiyakulangara.

Two from the four-member team is under police custody. Vipin, a native of Changankulangara and Ananthu, a native of Oachira are those held. The car was found abandoned in Kayamkulam. The two told police that they abandoned the car there as per the instruction of Roshan. Police suspect that Roshan and Pyari have fled to Bengaluru with the girl. The car is owned by a native of Kulashekarapuram, running rent a car business.

The gang barged into the family’s shanty on the roadside and abducted the girl after attacking her parents. The girl is the eldest of the couple’s seven children. They have been living in Oachira for the past two years, selling gypsum figurines along the national highway.
