NEW DELHI: The BJP is unlikely to release the list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls on Thursday. A decision has not been taken on the final list even after the election meet convened yesterday. The list is likely to be released tomorrow as it is holi today. The national leadership reached a consensus on the BJP candidates in Kerala after two-week long marathon talks.

BJP will field candidates in 14 seats and BDJS in five seats. BDJS will contest in Wayanad, Alathur, Thrissur, Mavelikkara and Idukki seats. Thushar Vellappally has yesterday asserted that he has not decided whether to contest or not. A decision will be taken in the next two days.

Meantime, reports say the central election panel led by party national chief Amit Shah had reached an agreement to field BJP state general secretary K Surendran in Pathanamthitta. The committee has approved the candidates list of 14 constituencies in Kerala including this. In a survey conducted by a special team entrusted by Amit Shah found that winning chances are more for K Surendran in Thrissur, Pathanamthitta and Kasargod.
