THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Central agencies and intelligence have started an investigation after sighting a drone camera under mysterious circumstances midnight in the coastal areas including Kovalam beach and main operating centre of VSSC.

The drone was first sighted by the night patrol police team at 12.55 am near Samudra beach in Kovalam. They noticed the camera in a search conducted by the control room police team after hearing the sound of a scooter.

Though an intensified search was conducted at the beach and nearby places, they could not find anything. When the drone moved towards north, the control room sent a message to the airport. CISF employees in charge of security at the VSSC saw the drone flying on top side of VSSC main station in Thumba.

However, the clippings of the drone camera entering VSSC compound was not seen in the camera installed there. In this scenario, agencies including intelligence are investigating.
