MALA: Though the minister had issued an order to provide 1000 cows from army farms to milk farkmers who had lost their cows during floods, the plan is not yet implemented due to some lapses from officials. 'Sanagra Ksheera Sangham' was in the forefront in bringing cows at the cost of milk farmers.
A notififcation was issued stating that 39 military farms are being ended and that 23,600 cows are veing sold. There were 1571 Frish Wall cows in a military farm at Pune Pimpri. These cows have an average cost of Rs.1,32,000 and they give 15-25 litres of milk. Only Rs.1000 was required and this Ksheeram Sangham would have beared all the other costs. Total cost would have been Rs 2 crore. The notification was issued by minister K Raju.
There are people who have lost 63 cows. The government had given only Rs 30000 each as compensation and this is not sufficient.
