NEW DELHI: The pleas filed in the high court in connection with women entry in Sabarimala will not be transferred to Supreme Court. The apex court rejected state government’s request to transfer pending pleas relating to the Sabarimala temple from the high court to the apex court. If necessary, they can approach the high court, the court said.
A bench led by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi considered the state government’s pleas. The state government had requested to transfer 33 pleas from the Kerala High Court in connection with Sabarimala including the plea against Sabarimala monitoring team.
The state government's argument was that some measures of the monitoring committee are trespassing into the jurisdiction of the state government.
