KOCHI: Now, Solar Scam accused Saritha S Nair is here to contest the Lok Sabha election in Ernakulam against UDF candidate Hibi Eden. As part of this, she went to Ernakulam collectorate, procured a nomination form and returned.

She is expected to file the nomination paper in the coming days.

Saritha told media persons that she was going to contest election in protest against the reluctance of the Congress party to take action against Congress leaders against whom she had levelled charges of sexual harassment.

“For the past one year, I have been sending emails and fax to Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi, requesting him to file cases against 12 leaders in the Congress party but not even once did he send me any reply. Is this how a person contesting to become the future prime minister responds to a woman’s complaint?” she quipped.

“During elections, party men ridicule me, calling me a fraudster. People against whom police had filed case after primary investigation on the basis of my complaint are contesting the Lok Sabha election. I’m going to contest the election, questioning the above behaviour of the party and it is not that I want to become an MP,” she told media.
