THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Soaring heat from the sun continues across the state as 117 people suffered physical difficulties. A traffic police officer was subjected to sunstroke in Kochi. According to official reports, 473 people suffered sunburns since February 25.

65 people across the state were affected by sunstroke on Thursday. Palakkad registered 40.8 degrees Celcius yesterday.

The IMD have warned an increase in temperature at Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. The state disaster management has advised to main high alert till March 30. People are advised to avoid direct sunlight between 11 am and 3 pm.
