NEW DELHI: The Centre has warned the state governments of possible terror attacks using drones. States have been asked to issue notification after clearly classifying security zones.

“Drones hovering over security regions should be shot down and for that Air force should work in coordination with the police,” the instruction from the Centre said.

Meanwhile, security agencies have evaluated that the flying of unidentified drones is a serious security flaw when security instructions are in place in Thiruvananthapuram.

The video clippings and photos of drones spotted in the Capital city have already been handed over to Central Intelligence agencies.

But the police are yet to find out persons who remotely controlled the drones. The clippings have been handed over to ISRO, RAW, DRDO, Military Intelligence and Air Force. They will be examining the videos to confirm whether objects spotted in the sky were drones or not.

The military intelligence have already started inquiry into flying of drones over strategically important areas such as Coast Guard Centre, North Air Force Base, and Pangode Infantry unit.
