KOCHI: Information regarding an attempt made by KSRTC left union leaders to hush up a molestation bid by a conductor came out on Monday.
It is alleged that the leaders intervened in order to protect the conductor. The incident happened on a bus that was coming towards Ernakulam from Bangalore on Sunday noon.

The conductor misbehaved with the woman who was sitting near his seat. This happened when the bus reached Chalakkudy region. The woman then called up his relatives to say what was happening on the bus. Soon after receiving her call, her husband and a few relatives reached Ernakulam, trying to trace the bus.

Seeing the relatives, the conductor got off the vehicle and disappeared from the scene. The relatives went to the police station to file a complaint. At the station, they were approached by the leaders, who persuaded them to withdraw their complaint.

There is also a case against him for trying to sexually harass a nun in the bus. As part of punitive action, he was transferred to Thrissur depot a year ago.
