KOCHI: Former DGP Jacob Thomas has confirmed that he will not contest the Lok Sabha polls as a candidate of Twenty 20 party from Kizhakkamblam. He is withdrawing his plans to contest as the government has not accepted his resignation tendered.
“Even after ten days of submitting the resignation letter, the government didn’t take a decision on Jacob Thomas’ resignation. Hence we have decided not to field him”, said M. Jacob, Twenty 20 President and Chairman and Managing Director of Kitex Group. The decision is said to be taken due to the shortage in time for proper campaigning.
“Twenty 20 candidates are facing opposition and difficulties from UDF’s Benny Behanan. LDF’s innocent never hurt us”, M. Jacob said.
Thomas is presently the senior most IPS official in the Kerala cadre.
