THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Gangs that circulate nude photos of children have been arrested, under ‘Operation P Hunt’. The action by the state police followed directions from Interpol. Operation P Hunt’ is being led by ADGP Manoj Abraham.

21 persons from the state have been arrested so far. Reports say that the police have identified more than 80 people engaged in such activities. 26 cases have been registered so far. The police are examining the mobile phone and computers of those arrested.
The main entertainment of the group is to upload and circulate children's nude photos through social media.

Vishnu (20) of Ranni was arrested Sunday night in connection with the incident. The inspection which started on Sunday iwill continue.

In the raids conducted under district police chief in 45 places in 12 districts, laptops, mobile phones, hard disc, USB drive were seized from 29 places.

State police Chief Loknath Behera informed that raids were conducted with the help of technology to identify the login details of those who watched child pornography and uploaded videos and photos on social media. The perpetrators spread the videos and photos via Facebook, Whatsapp and Telegram using Internet connection. The DGP said the raids will continue using the cyber expertise.

84 persons who indulged in such nefarious activities have bene identified, according to Cyberdome Nodal Officer and ADGP, South Manoj Abraham.

In Thiruvananthapuram, raids were conducted in five places and three persons were arrested. Seven places were raided in Alappuzha, five places in Thrissur city and four places in Malappuram. Two centres each were raided in Thrissur rural, Kollam city, Kollam rural and Kozhikode Rural.

“Those who spread nude photos, videos and watch them can get up to five years’ jail and Rs 10 lakh fine,” added Manoj Abraham.
