THIRUVANANTHAUPRAM: The CPM is planning for a big campaign under the leadership of party general secretary Sitaram Yechury in the Wayanad constituency where Congress chief Rahul Gandhi is contesting. The party’s new move is at a time amidst reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah are likely to come to the constituency to campaign for NDA candidate Thushar Vellappally.

The CPM directly took over the campaign of the LDF candidate to campaign against Rahul Gandhi. The CPM has directed their party members to gain one lakh new votes for LDF candidate P P Suneer.

Meantime, the BJP has decided to bring star campaigners including Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Pathanamthitta, Thiruvananthapuram and Wayanad constituencies. Modi is likely to reach days before the election. The BJP is expecting to garner votes by focusing mainly on the Sabarimala issue. The party expects that they can make wonders if leaders like Modi campaigns.

However, the congress camp is all set to celebrate Rahul’s filing of nomination papers. Rahul, who will be reaching Kozhikode along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi, will file his nomination papers tomorrow.
