KOZHIKODE: A Hindi TV channel has released a video showing Raghavan speaking about him spending Rs 20 crores to influence voters.
Raghavan alleged that the video is edited and his voice has been dubbed into it. He said that he would file a complaint with the election commission.
The channel workers approached him posing as a private party planning to build a five-star hotel in Kozhikode. They promised to donate Rs 5 crores to election fund if land dealings are completed smoothly. Raghavan was seen speaking in detail about election expenses. In the video, Raghavan said he spent Rs 20 crore for the 2014 LS polls. In the video, Raghavan said the Congress party had given him Rs 2 crores. The remaining amount was raised by him, he stated in the video.
Raghavan asks the private party to hand over the money at the office in New Delhi and that the deal would be in cash only.
MPs at Madhya Pradesh, UP, Delhi and Rajasthan were also subjected to this sting operation.
