THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Serious lapses were found in the nomination papers of Shobha Surendran, the BJP candidate of Attingal, soon after the same was noticed in the case of K Surendran also. She had to file again as the one filed showed some lapses in the number of cases. She withdrew the one filed on Tuesday after informed that there are 27 more cases against her.

Surendran too faced the same issue earlier. There was some uncertainty in his nomination papers after the government informed the high court that he is accused in 243 cases in the Sabarimala issue. The affidavit submitted along with the nomination papers did not mention about the cases. If anybody voices about it at the time of scrutiny, there are chances for the papers to get rejected.

Meantime, A Sampath and Adoor Prakash, the LDF and UDF candidates of Attingal have filed the nominations.
