THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: If the Congress betrays, that doesn’t mean there won’t be a secular alternative, said CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran. “We have till the 23rd of May to decide who will lead the secular democratic alternative”, Rajendran said.

“Rahul Gandhi and Shashi Tharoor who criticizes Modi and BJP contests against the CPI in Kerala. It’s a political failure. There is no need to show mercy towards them. It was betrayal from Congress in Kerala, while the opposition was building a grand alliance against Modi. The Congress of today is different. They are ready to build the Ram Temple to influence the majority community. The minority cannot understand this. CPM and CPI never mentioned that Rahul will rule the nation. Rahul Gandhi’s candidature at Wayanad will send a wrong message as it is not fit for a person who campaigns against the BJP”, Rajendran added.

“Amicus curiae’s report is not final. The court verdict is yet to come out. Amicus curiae is not an expert. The media are using his report as a weapon against the government. They might as well want to check the affidavit of the government”, Rajendran said.

Kanam Rajendran further said that the comment of A. Vijayaraghavan on the UDF candidate Remya Haridas should have been avoided.
