KOZHIKODE: The video of Kozhikode UDF candidate and sitting MP M K Raghavan demanding bribe had trigged controversy and emotional response from the MP. The UDF and Raghavan had maintained that the visuals were edited and added to the sound dubbed by some imitator of Raghavan.

But noted actor and dubbing artiste Shammy Tilakan has come out with the revelation that it is difficult to dub in Raghavan’s sound and add it to the edited video.

On his Facebook page, he says he had dubbed for a number of actors and he even got the State government’s award in 1994 and 2018. “For Kadathanadan Ambady I had dubbed for Prem Nazir. I could do only some justice to the sweet voice of Prem Nazir. But that too was possible only with the support of the brilliance of Chithranjali studio recordist Harikumar. But there are lots of complications.

According to Shammy Thilakan, the MP’s sound in the video and that at the press conference appear to be same 100 pc. The lip synch in the controversial would not have been perfect if it was edited and redubbed. When a video is recorded, the sounds in the atmosphere surrounding the object shot will also be there in the video’s sound track, so manipulating videos can be identified soon.
