THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The BJP is planning to bring Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Sabarimala as part of election campaign. The BJP state leadership is thinking of taking Modi to Sabarimala when he reaches state for the second phase of electioneering. A section of the state leadership has discussed this with the central leadership.

The state leaders and central leadership will hold more discussions in the coming days. Modi is reaching the state on April 12 for the first phase of campaigning. He will visit Kerala again on April 18. The state leadership assess that Modi’s visit to Sabarimala would be a major gain for the party.

If it is inconvenient for Modi to come, the party is likely to bring national chief Amit Shah to Sabarimala. The party believes that the visit of any one of them will help them to garner more votes in the polls.
