KOZHIKODE: The investigating team recorded the statement of M K Raghavan, the UDF candidate of Kozhikode Lok Sabha constituency in connection with the TV sting operation. A team of four reached Raghavan’s house Monday morning at 7 am and recorded his statement.

The team will examine the actual scenes related to the incident. The video released by the channel is also under surveillance. His statement was recorded as part of a probe on the reliability of the video clippings exposed by the Hindi channel. Two complaints are before the investigating team over the incident. The first complaint is that of Raghavan and the other one lodged by the LDF. DCP Wahid is in charge of the probe.

A video clipping allegedly showed Raghavan agreeing to accept Rs 5 crore in return for offering land to set up a hotel in Kozhikode. Raghavan said the video was fabricated.
