KOTTTAYAM: The charge sheet against nun rape accused Fr Franco Mulakkal will be filed in the Pala court on Tuesday. Five offences including rape have been charged against the bishop.

Other charges include misusing power to sexually harass a woman, unlawful detention, commission of unnatural sex, sexually harassing a woman under his control, using his authority and threat, and using influence to rape a woman repeatedly.

In the case, there are 83 witnesses including Cardinal Alancherry. Among them the witnesses, there are 11 priests, 3 bishops, 23 nuns and the magistrate who took secret statements.

The offences charged may invite a penalty of up to life imprisonment. Ironically, the DGP gave the nod for filing the charge sheet about one month after preparing the charge sheet.
