KOCHI: Four persons have been killed in two separate accidents in the state Tuesday morning.
Two were killed in an accident at Nettoor in Ernakulam. The accident happened after a lorry hit another lorry parked on the roadside. John, driver of the lorry and cleaner Varghese are the two killed in the accident. The incident happened early Tuesday morning at 4.30 am.
The lorry laden with load from Vellarada in the capital city hit the lorry parked on the roadside. Those involved in the accident were taken out after hour long rescue operations. Fire force unit, police and the locals led the rescue operations. The locals said the illegal parking of the lorry on the roadside is the reason for the accident. Complaints were lodged earlier on the illegal parking of lorries in Nettoor.
In another accident, 17 year-old Harsheena died in an accident after the car in which she was travelling lost control and hit a lorry near Perinthalmanna in Malappuram. She was the daughter of Hamsakutty. His eight-year-old son Badusha died in the accident yesterday. The condition of Hamsakutty’s wife is serious. The accident happened after the car tried to overtake the lorry.
