THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The question remains as to who will take over the leadership Kerala Congress (M) after the demise of K.M. Mani. Kerala Congress had a history of great leaders like P.T. Chacko and K.M. George. The party was split and brought together several times. Different versions of Kerala Congresses were also formed.
K.M. George’s son Francis George and P.T. Chacko’s son P.C. Thomas started ‘Kerala Congresses’ on their own. P.J. Joseph allied with Mani Congress after a political history as both friend and foe.
Mani brought up his son Jos as a possible successor to his position, but in a party where Joseph has strong prominence, it might not be easy. However, according to sources, Jose K. Mani will lead the party.
