KASARAGOD: The state government has submitted an affidavit at the High Court stating that CBI probe is unnecessary in the murder case of two Youth Congress activists at Periya. The affidavit also reads that the CPM has no hand in the incident. The affidavit was submitted after the families of the victims submitted a plea at the High court requesting a CBI probe in the case.

The transfer of investigating officers tasked with Periya murder case had drawn criticisms from everywhere including the families of the murdered youth.
