KOTHAMANGALAM: Two youths who acted as gentlemen in the day time and indulged in theft during the night were arrested by the Ernakuilam police on Friday. They got caught when the police were probing a number of cases.

Police said that the duo visited houses during daytime elegantly dressed like gentlemen and carried out their operation under the cover of night.

The arrested persons are Idukki Keerithodu natives Binu alias Mohandas (42) and Kalluvettamkuzhi native Shibu. The court remanded them and before that they were taken out to collect evidence.

Last Saturday, the duo broke into Thrikkariyoor Dhanashakthi Finance and attempted robbery. But as the alarm sounded, they fled, leaving behind their equipment like oxygen cylinder. The tools were examined and it gave them valuable leads to trace the culprits. Their mobile tower location was also examined. However, the police were not able to identify their faces as they were wearing helmet.
